“Bespoke” sounds rather fancy (and a little like “lawyer talk”!) but don’t worry – it just means that you get a say.

Everything we make is a one-off, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same. There’s no mass production here, just us, a workshop, and whatever reclaimed wood or fabric happens to be to hand.

If you see something you like but would like a small change to suit you, just get in touch and tell us what you have in mind. We can’t promise miracles, but we’re always happy to see what’s possible.

So if you’d like eight coat hooks instead of six, or a different colour combination, just ask. If we can do it, we will.

We’re Simon & Judy — retired solicitors who clearly didn’t retire properly.

In 2022, and just coming up to retirement, we decided that our brains and hands still needed something useful to do. So, we swapped paperwork and pleadings for reclaimed timber and fabric offcuts, and started making handmade, one-of-a-kind things for the home.

We make things you don’t strictly need, but which might make you smile, and sometimes, that a good enough reason!

Simon coaxes new life out of old wood. Judy turns pieces of fabric into bags, bunting, and other cheerful, useful-ish items. Wherever possible, we use recycled, repurposed, or upcycled materials — partly because it makes sense, and partly because we enjoy the challenge.

Do you need what we make? Probably not. Will it make you smile or brighten your day? Quite possibly — and that feels like a perfectly good reason.

We’re always on the lookout for interesting materials and would love to hear from anyone with local sources of “stuff”. Please bear in mind the environmental (and financial) cost of shipping or collection — we like our conscience as light as our wallets.
